Sts. Sahag & Mesrob Armenian School

Armenian School classes are held on Tuesday nights 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. There are 15 Students enrolled in the school. The students are divided into 3 classes based on their age. We also have a class of adults, which consists of parents and guardians of the students. The students learn reading, and writing. Classes are divided into two sessions. In between the two sessions students have a break and assembly. During the assembly they learn Armenian history, literature, history of Armenian religion, and music. We had three visitors this year. Sub-deacon David Gevorkian spoke to the students about the duduk, an Armenian musical instrument and entertained them. Miss Tamara Martirosyan played the kanon, another Armenian musical instrument. We had a special class on Saturday April 4, 2009. Miss Ani Ghajanian spoke to the children about Armenian art and held a workshop with the children. During the workshop the children made khachkars, (stone crosses).
