Arts Education Program

The Second Semester: January - June, 2009.

Dear Parishioners and Friends,

The Arts have always played an integral role on our rich Armenian heritage. In order for that tradition to continue for generations to come, we must encourage our youth to participate in a vast array of cultural activities.

With this in mind, beginning in September 1999, the Cultural Committee will continue its Arts Education Program for the 8th year. In the past six years many students have enrolled and all were very enthusiastic and plan on returning this September to continue to take advantage of this unique Cultural Program.

The Arts Educational Program takes place on Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Egavian Cultural Center. Classes are grouped by ages 6 to 17 and 18 and up. The Nazeli Dance Group meets on Friday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Ballroom Dance Group meets on Saturday from 12:00 noon to 1:15 pm.

Beginning in September 2005 we offered an Armenian Language class for Adults. For those who have previous commitments on Saturday, we’d be happy to schedule an alternative day, provided that there are a sufficient number of interested individuals.

The courses are taught by professionals from our community. There are private lessons and group lessons available.

This Cultural Program opens the door of opportunity for our youth to acquire new skills and expand their horizons. Additionally, it enables our young people to foster and develop new friendships with fellow Armenians.
