Armenian Language

Last year our Sts Sahag and Mesrob Church School introduced an addition to the Sunday Curriculum. This new Curriculum provides the opportunity for our young generation to learn about our rich Armenian heritage by teaching youngsters the following:

• Conversational Armenian
• Armenian Culture
• Armenian History
• Armenian Songs and Dances.

This new addition to the Church School Curriculum has been very well received, both by students as well as parents. We’re pleased to say that it will be continued this year with an expanded teaching staff.

In some of the classes, the teacher may send home with the pupil a copy of what was taught during class. This will give an opportunity for the children, with the assistance of their parents, to reinforce during the week what they learned in class.

We’re pleased to see the enthusiasm of the children while they’re learning. They are so proud of themselves and the smiles on their faces show how they are enjoying learning to speak Armenian.

We thank the parents and grandparents for all their encouragement. With all of us working together we hope to reach our goal of teaching our younger generation to be proud of their heritage.
