2006 Annual Parish Assembly Minutes
Report of the Pastor
Very Rev. Father Simeon Odabashian read excerpts of his report as it appears in the assembly booklet to all members present at the meeting. Hayr Soorp expressed his appreciation to the faithful for their presence in church every Sunday.
Edward Onanian asked Hayr Soorp if he would implement the service whereby newly baptized children were invited to church with their families. He stressed the importance of creating bonds and friendships in repeating this activity.
Jack Chakoian expressed his thanks to Hayr Soorp for all that he does for us.
Steven Zaroogian posed the question regarding how we are meeting the goals presented at the 90th anniversary. Hayr Soorp replied that he is currently working on the youth-oriented goals by creation of a committee with subcommittees. He is also working on outreach, and noted that the goals have not been forgotten.
Raffi Najarian shared that he had just spoken with Der Hayr Donikian who expressed how pleased he is with how our church has been running.
Vernon Samoorian made a motion to accept the Pastor’s report as read, and it was seconded by Ara Boghigian.
Narrative Report of the Parish Council
Michele Kazarian invited John Kazarian, Parish Council Chairman to approach the podium to address the assembly with the Report of the Parish Council. He read excerpts from the report. John individually recognized each member of the parish council.
A motion to accept the Parish Council report as presented was made by Vernon Samoorian and seconded by Raffi Najarian.
At this time ballots were distributed to members.
Report of Diocesan Delegates
A motion to accept the Diocesan Delegates report was made by Nathalie Yaghoobian, and the motion was seconded by Bertha Mugurdichian.
